Tourvest acquires Brothers Sport
Thursday, 22 September 2011

Tourvest Destination Management (TDM) has announced the acquisition of Brothers Sport, an inbound and outbound sports tour operator in South Africa.  Brothers Sport will fall under the auspices of TDM’s Business and Sport Events division, which was launched this year, and together with Indo Jet Sports and T.E.A.M, form the core of this division.

Brothers Sport and Indo Jet Sports will continue to operate as independent brands to continue to cater for their customers’ needs. “Indo Jet Sports has traditionally focused on large international rugby events and, to a lesser extent, school tours,” said TDM’s Chief Operating Officer, Bryan Coetzee, “while the focus at Brothers Sport lies predominantly in the local sport product and school tours market.” This arrangement will help to provide a platform for the company to participate in local and international sporting events including Formula 1, the Rugby World Cup, and the FIFA Soccer World Cup.

Based in Cape Town, Brothers Sport oversees tourism needs, including accommodation, transport, excursions, fixtures, and festivals, for both inbound and outbound tours for schools, clubs, and universities. Established in 2003 by Chris and Mari Brothers, the agency has created packages around events like the J&B Met, Two Oceans Marathon, and Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour.
