Airlink revises Johannesburg-Pemba schedule
Wednesday, 19 January 2011

Effective January 26, Airlink will, due to normal seasonality influences, reduce its flight schedule between Johannesburg and Pemba, northern Mozambique, to a single flight per week operating only on Saturdays.

The Wednesday flights will not operate from January 26 to March 30.

Passengers who had already been ticketed for the Wednesday flights have already been accommodated on alternative flights.

In a statement the airline said while Pemba had been experiencing increasing interest from both local and international markets, the period ahead was a traditional low season, not only due to general seasonal tourism downturn but also weather influences due to cyclones, which may be experienced in the Mozambique channel at this time.

Seamless connection is of utmost importance to travellers and the timings of Airlink’s direct flights between Johannesburg and Pemba connect conveniently with South African Airways and its alliance partners’ inbound/outbound international and domestic flights.
