Thursday, 05 April 2012
Holiday Tours has announced that it will be closing its Durban office at the end of this month.

Otto de Vries, Director of Holiday Tours and Travel Operations Manager for Comair Limited Travel Division said the closure is in line with its consolidation, centralisation and more specifically the move to supporting the trade through real-time booking and quoting sytems, available to travel agents via the web.

“We will maintain our presence in Durban through our sales representative, Charmaine Lewis, who has been with Holiday Tours for 15 years”, he said. “I am also pleased to announce that Avril Maharaj and Sarah Tallents will remain in the employ of Holiday Tours, with Avril joining our Johannesburg team in the middle of April and Sarah joining our Cape Town team from the May 1.”

“We trust that we will continue to receive the support of the Durban trade, who are welcome to deal with either or Johannesburg or Cape Town office”. Trade support will continue as it always has through Charmaine.” “With our new online booking tools, available through our website, , we are also confident that the Durban trade will enjoy the ability to quote, book and pay for a wide selection of our key destinations, including South Africa, Southern Africa, Mauritius, Maldives and Seychelles online. This technology is key in Holiday Tours drive to ensure travel agents have hugely improved productivity levels through instant quotes (with availability) along with the further ability to allow their customers to book securely, without having to pick up the phone.”
